Job description

This is a contract position for a Business Analyst for our public sector client.
Work location: Toronto
Duration: Four Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 2 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
Leads the elicitation, elaboration, analysis and validation of business requirements and data needs
Plans and facilitates workshops to gather requirements and create user stories
Provide support during the design, implementation and testing phases of the project
Supports the product manager and product owner to refine and groom the product backlog
Analyze business requirements to identify solution options or improvements
Works with the developers to align business requirements with solution capabilities
Report progress on deliverables on a regular basis at stand-ups, and other team meetings as required
Proactively raise risks/issues and propose mitigation strategies

Conduct feasibility analysis, scoping and provide work estimates on user stories
Conduct Joint Requirements Planning and Joint Application Design sessions
Analyze and map processes / data for current state and future state
Review and provide feedback of technical design documents
Conducts product walkthroughs / demonstrations at the end of each sprint cycle
Facilitate and produce Sprint artefacts as required

Qualifications
Proven experience in investigating, analyzing and estimating system applications in large integrated complex environments
Experience with all stages of system implementation in complex solutions
Demonstrated experience with implementation of business solutions using Commercial off the Shelf solution implementations such as Oracle Siebel based systems
Ability to document requirements using story boarding utilizing tools such as Jira
Experience with prototyping tools to deliver high quality prototypes and mock-ups
Experience with business process mapping tools such as Visio
Knowledge of OpenText
