Job description
Adecco is currently seeking a highly skilled Equipment Planner to oversee the detailed planning of serial lines related to electrode, assembly, and formation. This role involves technical preparation for equipment purchases, worldwide benchmarking, continuous process improvement, failure analysis, and ensuring efficient production while aligning with project managers.

Responsibilities:
Detailed planning of serial lines in the area of electrode, assembly, and formation from concept to commissioning
Technical preparation for equipment procurement, including requirements specification, requests for quotation, and vendor assessments
Global benchmarking of equipment manufacturers to ensure optimal sourcing
Continuous improvement of processes to enhance product quality, reduce production costs, and minimize emissions
Conducting failure and root cause analysis, including tear-down analysis
Responsibility for production oversight and continuous improvement
Daily communication with suppliers to manage costs and schedules
Regular communication with internal project managers to align on cost schedules
Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
International mindset with an interest in global work and diverse teams
Bachelor’s degree, chemical, electrochemical, mechanical, automation, electrical, industrial engineering or similar education, and/or relevant industrial work experience.
5+ years of relevant work experience in equipment planning and process engineering, preferably in battery cell production
Profound knowledge of battery cell production or automation processes
Expertise and prior experience in establishing battery manufacturing facilities
Prior experience on conducting and reviewing equipment designs, coordination with equipment suppliers
High cost awareness, technical negotiating skills and assertiveness
Above-average communication skills and ability to work in a team
Experience with equipment selection as well as with FAT/SAT (Factory Acceptance Test / Site Acceptance Test)
Experience with production continual improvement
Strong understanding of PFMAE (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Hands on experience on battery cell failure and root cause analysis, including tear-down analysis
Experience with equipment installation and ramp-up process is considered an asset
Experience with MSA (Measurement System Analysis)
Experience with design cell production control plan is considered an asset
Knowledge of battery testing used for battery cell manufacturing
Able to travel both nationally and internationally (~30-40%)
