OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Business Architect is responsible for the overall solution from a business point of view. They are responsible for stitching together the business and system flows in a cohesive way then working with the individual teams to ensure work is carried out in a comprehensive to reduce gaps and remove conflicts when work is being done on multiple subprojects by separate teams.
WHAT YOU LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:
Business Strategy Alignment:
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand business objectives and develop strategies to achieve them.
- Align business processes, systems, and technology with the overall business strategy.
Business Process Optimization:
- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Design and implement new business processes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Enterprise Architecture Development:
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture models that depict the organization's structure, processes, and systems.
- Ensure that the enterprise architecture aligns with business goals and objectives.
Technology Roadmap Development:
- Work with IT teams to develop technology roadmaps that support business objectives.
- Identify technology solutions that can drive business innovation and competitive advantage.
Change Management:
- Lead change management initiatives to ensure that business and technology changes are implemented successfully.
- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders throughout the change process.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for business architecture initiatives.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Bilingual (English and French) a plus.
- Experience working in a bilingual (English and French) environment is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Business Architect or in a related business analysis role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of business process modeling methodologies and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
- Familiarity with IT systems, data modeling, and technology trends.
- Project management skills to drive business transformation initiatives effectively.
- Strong knowledge of implementing business process and role changes, software applications, and encouraging system usage.
- Experience in project increments and managing work across multiple teams.
- Strong knowledge defining and implementing business and system processes in large organizations.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Proven experience in change management, preferably in a government setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience using SAFe Agile methodology strongly preferred.
- Clarity, Remedy, and/or Azure Dev Ops experience preferred.
- Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Visio) experience required.
