Job description

Rush Canada Soccer Academy is a recognized National Youth Club and OPDL License holder. We offer year-round senior, youth and grass roots development programs for male and female players located in the GTA. Our teams participate in a number of regional and provincial leagues including Peel Halton, OPDL and League One Reserve. Our coaches have a wide range of playing and coaching experience and qualifications obtained through UEFA, Asia, USA and Canada Soccer. We are part of Rush Soccer based in the US, which provides a player development path that includes competitive streams in Canada, United States and Europe.


Job Description

• POSITION TITLE: OPDL Head Coach
• POSITION STATUS: Part-time, Contract
• REPORTS TO: Technical Director
• APPLICATION DEADLINE: Until position is filled
• START DATE: Immediate

Job Summary:

• The OPDL Head Coach is responsible for providing leadership and development for our Academy’s OPDL team
• The position has both administrative and technical responsibilities
• This position manages almost all aspects of the OPDL team, including games, practices, team & parent management under the guidance of Academy Director and Technical Director of Rush Canada
• Full season planning and its implementation Responsibilities:

• Technical

o Attend all OPDL training sessions in compliance with the OPDL pre-planned schedule
o Ensure that all training follows the Ontario Soccer LTPD matrix guidelines
o Select players suitable for the program in consultation with Academy & Technical Director
o Prepare for and conduct practice sessions according to LTPD recommended curriculum, Rush Training programs and practice to game ratios
o Ensure sessions are conducted in a safe environment with appropriate equipment and supervision
o Understand all actions must be conducted in the best interest of the player
o Conduct game analysis for review with players

• Coaching Development

o Mentor Assistant Coach
o Work closely with other age group coaches to help identify and develop players
o Engage with Rush Development tools and programs to support the “Rush Way”

• Administration/customer service

o Administer and coordinate with the Rush Canada Code of Conduct and policies
o Agree to adhere to OPDL rules including, but not limited to:
 OPDL Technical Manual, OPDL Operations Manual, OPDL Code of Conduct
o Follow all OPDL Game Day procedures, including completion of game sheets, players substitutions and
any other procedures required by the OPDL and/or Rush Canada.
o Support the vision and philosophy of the academy and assist in providing membership satisfaction
o Participate in all OPDL related events

Qualifications and Experience Required

o Strong management and Leadership skills
o Canada Soccer Youth Licence completed (preferred) or current enrollment in the Youth Licence course (acceptable)
o Canada Soccer National B Licence or current UEFA B Licence (acceptable)
o Previous coach mentoring experience
o Experience working with competitive/high-performance players
o Valid driver’s license and accessibility to a vehicle
o Police Check (Police Vulnerable Sector Check)
o Eligible to work in Ontario
