POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the President, the Manager of Human Resources will develop and implement the full range of Human Resources policies and activities in accordance with Eurofase’s goals. This position oversees all HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, compensation & benefits, training & development, performance management, employee relations and health & safety. This position actively promotes a positive organizational culture, focused on the health and wellness of all employees.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

Day to Day Management

· Ensure compliance with government regulations in all Human Resource functions including policies and procedures, dealing with employee issues, performance management, reporting, etc.

· Develop and maintain Human Resources policies that govern employees in the workplace in such areas as harassment, discrimination, attendance management, vacation, sick leave, etc.

· Maintain a current organizational chart and job descriptions.

· Prepare various Human Resources documents, such as offer letters, verification of employment, termination letters, performance management correspondence, etc.

· Oversee the payroll department, including direct supervision of Payroll Administrator.

· Oversee the administration of the employee benefits programs, evaluate existing policies and recommend changes to minimize costs while maintaining/improving employee coverage. In conjunction with the CFO, liaise and negotiate with benefit vendors.

· Monitor short and long-term disability and workers’ compensation.

· Facilitate all Human Resources programs such as service awards, annual employee surveys, suggestion programs, safety incentives etc. Recommend other programs that promote high employee morale.

· Perform other duties as required by President and CFO


Hiring and Termination

· In consultation with management, conduct full-cycle recruitment up to an including director-level position. Responsible for writing job ads and job descriptions, screening candidates, interviewing and performing reference checks. Follow all legal requirements when dealing with recruitment and selections.

· Orient new employees, including reviewing employee handbook and applicable Human Resource policies. Ensure all required paperwork is completed and entered in the HRIS/payroll system as dictated by policy.

· Oversee the termination process for all employees, as needed, including calculation of termination compensation.


Best Practice and Process Improvement

· Design and implement a formal total compensation program to ensure competitiveness, compliance with government regulations and to support the growth and career opportunities of all employees.

· Recommend ongoing updates to the organization’s compensation system to ensure competitiveness and attraction for external candidates, and the retention of internal candidates. Present result to management as requested.

· Develop, implement and administer a performance management and appraisal program.


Business Partner

· Forecast staffing needs across the organization, accounting for strategic needs, peak periods and/or business slowdowns. Direct the recruitment function and monitor organization turnover.

· Partner with company managers and directors to identify training and development needs, maintain a healthy and safe work environment. In conjunction with management, design and deliver training & development programs as identified. Ensure training & development initiative are in place across the organization to promote execution excellence, professional development and career growth.

· Coach managers and employees on all Human Resources issues with a view to promoting a positive and healthy work environment. Act as an internal mediator between management and employees as needed. Act as an impartial resource by listening to issues and resolving conflict. Maintain open communications with employee and management.

· Counsel department managers on performance management issues. Draft all performance improvement letters across the organization to ensure consistency and compliance with legal obligations. Where required, counsel department managers in matters relating to potential termination of employees.

· Advise senior management on the fair and equitable treatment of departing employees.
