About The Opportunity:

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional and inter-disciplinary teams throughout the organization to implement the organizational capital project management framework and its advancement by guiding and supporting the capital planning, estimating and budgeting process throughout a capital project lifecycle for municipal infrastructure programs and projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong inter-personal skills, a proven ability to successfully engage with multi-disciplinary teams, and the ability to influence, mentor and coach. We are looking for a qualified candidate with the humility and work ethic to support and complement staff knowledge and efforts towards continuous improvement in budgeting and costing maturity. This dynamic role works with various teams that are responsible for project delivery in several municipal infrastructure asset areas to develop, review, guide, instruct, monitor, and implement requirements in the areas of budget development, cost planning, cost estimating, project management, cost management, cost monitoring and infrastructure planning.

About Your Background:

Ideally, you have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and are eligible for registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists in the Province of British Columbia. C ompletion of formal project management training or certification is desirable . You have at least five years of related experience in infrastructure planning and capital construction project management and demonstrate this experience through infrastructure planning approach, budget planning, estimating, and costing procedures. Construction estimating and cost planning in civil infrastructure projects experience is required. An equivalent combination of training, advanced technical courses, and/or substantial experience related to quantity surveying and/or construction estimating may also be considered. A class 5 BC driver's license (or out of province equivalent) is required.
