Having integrated and flown 4 electric airplanes, the Swiss start-up has been selected by Pratt & Whitney Canada to provide the battery pack for its regional hybrid-electric flight demonstrator. This recent announcement is a further illustration of H55’s position as a major enabler in the electric commuter market.
About the role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Operations Manager to spearhead the establishment and efficient operation of a state-of-the-art aircraft battery manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing operational strategies, overseeing day-to-day activities, and ensuring the seamless coordination of internal processes. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in operations management and a keen understanding of the aerospace manufacturing sector.
Primary responsibilities
Operations set-up: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy efficient workflows and procedures for the new manufacturing production line.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Operational Oversight & Team Leadership:
- Supervise daily manufacturing operations team to achieve production targets and quality standards
- Optimize production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems to manage raw materials and finished goods.
- Collaborate and coordinate with local and international teams to ensure a seamless supply chain for raw materials, internal logistics and customer delivery
- Contribute to production team recruiting, training, and managing a skilled production team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure a motivated and high-performing team.
Quality:
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards.
- Implement and ensure Quality System compliance in day-to-day activities
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to achieve highest product quality.
Your Profile - Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in operations management, quality and logistics within the aerospace manufacturing sector leading manufacturing teams with related regulations and safety protocols
- Demonstrated success in establishing and optimizing manufacturing facilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Familiarity with relevant manufacturing standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical, data-driven and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to liaise with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Bilingual French & English a must
- ERP experience and Microsoft Suite knowledge are a must.
