We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Shipping & Packaging Manager to join our team at a leading aluminum extrusion manufacturing company.

If you have a passion for optimizing shipping processes, managing packaging operations, and ensuring products are delivered with precision, we want you on board.

--> In this role, you will take charge of supervising all aspects of our Shipping and Packing departments, ensuring seamless operations in our 6-day-per-week Shipping facility and our 24/7 Packing department.
Your responsibilities will include providing direct supervision to a Shipping Supervisor and four Packing Supervisors/Team Leaders, while indirectly managing a team of 60 employees. As a leader, you'll be responsible for meticulous planning, organization, direction, control, performance measurement, and taking corrective actions to enhance overall efficiency.

Safety is paramount, and you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure work environment, promoting best practices, adhering to 5S principles, and enforcing safety regulations. Additionally, your commitment to providing exceptional customer service will be evident as you interact with clients, carriers, vendors, and service providers, ensuring that freight transactions, from pickup to delivery, are executed flawlessly, and expediting shipments when necessary.

Responsibilities
What to expect:

- Optimize freight costs through load maximization and minimizing delivery drops to achieve one-day delivery.
- Take charge of carrier selection and rate negotiations.
- Collaborate with freight vendors to ensure compliance with requirements, requested standards, and timelines.
- Efficiently manage the Work-in-Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) warehouses, emphasizing safety and minimizing part damage.
- Attain daily scheduled production output as per plan, with a proactive approach to risk anticipation and corrective measures.
- Uphold Can Art's quality standards for all products.
- Maintain precise records of employee attendance and hours worked in the ADP workforce system, following Company policies.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of team members.
- Oversee team members' performance and development through training, feedback, and individual performance evaluations.
- Promote desired performance through effective cross-training, employee motivation, and retention strategies.
- Evaluate team members' performance, applying rewards and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Attain proficiency in the use of our MRP system (EPICs).
- Exhibit strong leadership and influencing skills to support the company in achieving its growth and overall goals.

Qualifications
What you need:

- Possess a post-secondary education in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrate a minimum of a decade of relevant experience within a production setting.
- Show a proven track record with at least five years of hands-on experience in a shop floor supervisory role.
- Previous involvement in labor-intensive industries and a 24/7 manufacturing environment is a valuable advantage.
- While not mandatory, knowledge of logistics and shipping protocols is considered beneficial.
