Job description
The Opportunity:
Our client, a leading consumer goods manufacturer, is seeking a Shopper Marketing Manager to support their world class sales, marketing, and retail operations. You will be responsible for managing account specific programs that support overall strategic business priorities as well as the sales strategy as related to the retail partners. This role is a liaison between Marketing and Sales and oversees the communication and planning of campaigns, product launches, and communication of brand strategies.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Engage Marketing, Sales, Retail Operations, and external partners to develop and execute unique instore customer programs.
- Innovate and collaborate with Retail Operations, Key Account Managers, and retailer contacts to ensure account specific programs, national campaigns, and product launches are flawlessly executed and stand out at store level.
- Extend instore activity into the retailer eCommerce space within key accounts with input from eCommerce Manager as well as KAM’s to create an omni channel experience for consumers.
- Oversee annual Shopper Marketing budget by allocating spend based on brand and business objectives and by ensuring high work integrity for all billings, invoices, and PO’s.
- Support the Consumer Sales team with tactical initiatives to strengthen communication internally via monthly meetings with tools and resources to enhance efficiencies and knowledge.
- Grow repertoire of external partners to explore innovative vehicles to support our programs and brands.
- Use post-program evaluation tool that was co-developed with category management, to review ROI on key big bets on a yearly basis, to determine best in class program criteria.
- Play an active role in key account presentations where required, to develop retailer specific promotional activities to support corporate sales objectives.
- Represent Shopper Marketing within the IAT (Integrated Agency Team) process as related to thematics and product campaigns.
- Develop cross category contacts at other consumer packaged goods companies, along with Marketing contacts within retail partners, to initiate trade channel cross promotions.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in trade/shopper marketing, sales, or marketing related fields in the CPG industry.
- Post-secondary education, preferably in a related field
- Ability to analyze A.C Nielsen data
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP
