We have an opportunity for a Senior Program Manager. Reporting to the Manager, AbbVie Care Programs. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for providing strategic direction and will manage tactical, operational and compliance activities associated with the patient support programs (Parkinson’s and Virology), placing the patient at the center of any efforts. The Senior Program manager will also be responsible for the vendor(s) selection and ongoing management. The Senior Program Manager will operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations across Canada.
The mandate encompasses implementing the strategic direction of the patient support services in close collaboration with the Brand Team through the 1/7/5 strategic brand planning process and includes managing the direct costs of the program to budget, co-creating marketing materials, and managing projects, which will elevate our patient support services and differentiate the brands. The SPM also leads all operational aspects of our specialty launch brands and launch indications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Works cross-functionally with various internal teams to assess the patient journey, develop the patient experience and implement patient support services designed to meet the brand business objectives for optimal support of patients
- Evaluates, selects and negotiates contracts with third party vendors.
- Oversees third party vendors’ performance through Key Performance Indicators and monitors corrective action plans as necessary.
- Contributes actively to third party governance programs including monthly and quarterly Strategic Business Reviews for each area of service, leveraging best practices in Suppliers Relationship Management.
- Manages daily operations of the program in each service area; patient enrolment, on boarding, drug supply coordination, financial assistance, material fulfilment and third-party’s field team where applicable.
- Adheres to and applies rigorous project management principles and methods to ensure key projects are properly scoped, resourced and managed to meet quality, speed and budget objectives.
- Seeks to constantly evolve and improve services, by leveraging the input of internal and external stakeholders.
- Manages the budget of services; identifying areas where efficiencies and cost savings could be implemented; provides LBEs and contingencies to the Finance team as required. Analyzes monthly reports to identify opportunities for improved customer service, areas of improvement/training in Program Operations.
- Identifies training opportunities on new processes as required. Provides training on program operations as needed.
- Identifies changes required to SOP’s in response to changing market conditions or compliance guidelines and develops corresponding SOPs.
- Provides timely customer service to commercial and non-commercial teams and external customers to capitalize on opportunities or service gaps.
- Works with relevant functional areas to achieve brand team goals.
Education / Experience Required:
- BAC in Commerce or equivalent (Specific background in the respective field of the business unit preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar position.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in patient support program.

- Communicates effectively with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and strengthen communication channels
- Strong negotiation skills, ability to identify alternatives to achieve a mutually beneficial negotiated agreement.
Knowledge requirements:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
- Knowledge of Customer Relation Management (CRM) platforms.
