Job description
Adecco is currently seeking a Health, Safety, and Environmental Coordinator for our client in Ajax, ON. This is a crucial role with a focus on maintaining and improving Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs and policies. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Certification, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial HSE regulations.
Pay rate: $25-$27/hour.
Location: Ajax, ON
Shifts: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm but flexible as long as 8 hours is worked
Job type: Temporary 1-year contract | Full-time

Responsibilities:
Update and maintain HSE programs and policies.
Assist in achieving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Certification.
Conduct risk assessments based on company risk methodology.
Participate in incident investigation processes.
Review past and current injuries to enhance overall safety records.
Document management, including updates, reviews, and uploading on tools.
Document HSE incidents/infractions and observations, recommending corrective actions.
Maintain monthly Measurement of Performance or Key Performance Indicator data sheets.
Update general planned inspections through physical assessments.
Manage a WHMIS program, including SDS and employee training.
Complete contractor training updates as required.
Provide recommendations and implement strategies for compliance with HSE regulations.
Requirements:
Ideally possess a College Diploma or University Degree in Industrial Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
1-2 years of HSE work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of both Federal and Provincial HSE regulations.
Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards implementation.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Flexibility to adjust the schedule to address Health and Safety concerns.
Comfortable presenting/training in a classroom setting.
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
