The Opportunity:
This is an exciting mid-career opportunity for the right individual with the skills as senior technical personnel. WSP's Buildings' team engages in the design of healthcare, educational, commercial, hospitality, environmental infrastructure, recreational and light industrial facilities. This position is focused on healthcare related projects, however, will be exposed to other sectors of the M&E Business as required.

WeAre WSP What you can expect to do here: - Work in a project delivery team.
- Work on a wide range of project assignments within the mechanical buildings field, including HVAC, plumbing, medical gas and fire protection.
- Participate in project assignments from concept design to completion of construction.
- Consult with clients, design professionals, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Review and assess existing systems and preparing condition reports.
- Assisting with preparing load calculations utilizing industry standard heating/cooling load analysis software.
- Assist with selection of systems and equipment and preparing project specifications.
- Prepare project drawings utilizing industry standard drafting and BIM modelling software.
- Participate in project construction progress and managing construction phase administrative tasks.
What you'll bring to WSP: - P.Eng. registration with PEO or another Canadian provincial Engineering Association.
- 3+ years of experience in consulting mechanical design engineering for buildings with your P.Eng. certification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to represent WSP in project meetings and client meetings.
- Ability to deliver comprehensive design submissions, often with demanding timelines.
- Experience in assisting with the creation of tender document packages with drawings and specifications.
- Some experience with site reviews of building mechanical systems.
- A working understanding of building construction, building mechanical systems and controls.
- A working knowledge and understanding of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Plumbing Code, the National Building Code of Canada and CAN/CSA Z317.1 & 2, CSA-Z8000.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CARRIER HAP or TRANE Trace, AutoCAD and REVIT are required.
