About:


Our client: One of the world's largest civil engineering and mining companies committed to innovative and sustainable practices. Is seeking a Civil Engineering Construction Manager (Water Programs)r for a $1.2 billion, water treatment program. The initiative aimed at removing selenium and nitrates from mine-impacted water, focusing on improving water quality in the Elk Valley. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our aggressive water treatment program, focusing on regulatory compliance and environmental restoration.


Location: Elk Valley


The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our aggressive water treatment program, focusing on regulatory compliance and environmental restoration. Has worked on large-scale, complex projects ranging from $100M - 1 B+.


Responsibilities:


Strategic Oversight: Oversee diverse teams to ensure streamlined project coordination processes. Manage cost controls, schedules, project planning, contract and procurement package preparation, risk management, and document management.


Engineering & Construction Management: Lead the standalone site for the water treatment facility.

Drive technology, environmental, safety, and schedule components for mining projects by the end of 2025. Experience in successfully leading construction projects in various industries, including oil sands, alumina refinery, and regulatory compliance.


Managing Contracts: Assess construction packages, identify issues, and improve project timelines and budgets. Ensure contractor management and mitigate scope creep for successful project delivery. Previous experience managing 166 packages, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.


Ensure site safety and quality with a focus on execution, with limited support from engineering and quality teams.


Expertise in managing construction projects with a strong focus on environmental standards.


Work Rotation:

Work rotation of 13/8.


Qualifications and Experience:


Proven success in managing complex engineering projects for a minimum of 20 years.


At least 10 years of experience working on multi-million dollar projects exceeding $50M.


Background in civil engineering and mining.
