Job description
Angela Degelman- Director of Permanent Search- Accounting and Finance, has partnered up with one of Aplins most valued and long-tenured customers to assist them in sourcing talented and driven candidates to grow their accounting team. The Manager, of Accounting, supervises accounting activities & provides accounting expertise, guidance, & advice to the company. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, serving as a member of the management team & contributing to the development of the accounting team, and preparing for future growth.
Responsibilities:
Supervises the day-to-day operations of the accounting team; answers questions, reviews decisions, and monitors general workload and production levels.
Supervises accounting team; builds and develops a high-functioning team; oversees training requirements, provides support in recruiting, work assignments, professional development, and performance management.
Produces financial & statistical reports including financial statements, reinsurance accounting, investments, and regulatory filings.
Optimizes accounting processes to create efficiencies and enhance customer service.
Participates in the development, communication, and implementation of accounting best practices, policies, and procedures for accounting staff formally documented in an accounting procedures manual.
Respond to and settle major inquiries and complaints from other departments, staff, brokers, and policyholders.
Liaises with external auditors and other department heads
