Medicine Hat College’s Advancement & Community Relations department is welcoming applications for a temporary part-time Communications Specialist.

A little about the role:

As part of the Marketing & Communications team at Medicine Hat College, you will use your communication skills to showcase the college. With a focus on the website, you will create new web content, enhance the presentation of existing content, and approve submitted author changes through an established workflow process. This position will be expected to generate written material, still images, and video to sustain the website and other communications efforts working with the college’s brand concepts.

This role is ideal for someone seeking a dynamic team environment. You’ll have confidence and experience finding, telling, and sharing stories on our website, social media, and other platforms. Knowledge and proficiency in web design and related software, writing skills, and the ability to gather images are all important.

• A diploma in a related field; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Three years’ related work experience in public relations or marketing, working in a postsecondary or corporate environment.
• Knowledge and proficiency in web design and related software. Experience with Sitecore content management system is an asset.
• Strong writing skills.

Terms of employment:

• Term of Appointment: March 11, 2024 - March 14, 2025
• Hours of Work: 20 hours per week
• Wage Rate: $28.28 per hour (Start Rate); $31.60 per hour (Job Rate)
