Job Description
Purpose: To Assist the Front Office Manager in the efficient and smooth operation of the Front Office Department. Under the supervision of the Front Office Manager - trains, directs and supervises Front Office staff, inspiring through every interaction - thoughtful, meaningful guest service, while adhering to internal controls, programs and policies
Responsibilities:
- Assists in conducting training and providing vital information for all Front Office employees in an effective and systematic manner; including but not limited to educating and empowering in respect to the hotel’s loyalty program
- Must have strong understanding of the functions of each department of the hotel, physical layouts of the hotel facilities, the key personnel and their roles, daily functions and special events, banquets and groups currently in the house and due to arrive; responsible to conduct briefings and educate front desk personnel on the same
- Directs daily front office operations in absence of Front Office Manager, responding to guest feedback in a timely, warm and professional manner
- Participates in and follows up on log book as necessary
- Ensures all guest in house payments are collected, and payment polices are adhered to and followed-up on
- Ensures working relationships and behaviours are professional, respectful and amiable
- Is fully prepared for emergency procedures, and educating and empowering key personnel on the same
Work Experience Qualifications:
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must embrace constant changes, handle stressful situations, remain professional, composed and positive when facing client confrontation.
- Ability to be assertive without being aggressive
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
- Knowledge of applications : Word, Excel, Internet, E-mail; OPERA is an asset
- Passionate, Positive attitude, determination, team spirit, available, flexible to work at various times of the week and day, including weekends and late night/early morning
- Must be bilingual in both English and French, written and oral.*
- Studies in Hotel Management and experience with various hotel financial reports are an asset
