Senior Civil Estimator
Heavy Civil, Deep Foundations, Water/Sewer Construction

OUR CLIENT
This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable Heavy Civil Contractor based in Toronto, Ontario. Our client is well established within the Toronto market, recognized for community contributions and well reputed all who have had the pleasure of working with them.

We are looking for an experienced candidate within water/sewer and Heavy Civil who would like to work with an amazing group and move into a department management role. The opportunity to grow the Estimation team and mentor others is here!

Projects are complex and our client is offering an abundance of learning opportunities to even the most experienced individual. The environment is ambitious, driven, innovative and collaborative.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Degree in civil engineering or engineering tech,
• 10 years construction experience
• Exceptional communication skills and good industry exposure
• Demonstrated commitment to your team and the aims and goals of the company
• Demonstrated understanding and proficiency in bid take-off software
• Demonstrated understanding of bid/tender requirements
• Keen sense of foresight and versatility and a track record for creative problem solving
• Risk identification and mitigation

WHAT'S REQUIRED

Requirements Analysis

• Identify potential tenders/pre-qualifications and communicate
• Analyze drawings and specifications
• Understand contractual terms and conditions
• Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labour costing
• Stay updated on costs of materials, labour and equipment

Bid Preparation

• Detailed review of plans

• Read project specifications

• Performing quantity take-offs

• Supplier/Subcontractor engagement through tendering

• Successful Tenders

• Formulate cost or production break down from estimates and for project progress and execution

• Participation in Hand-Over meetings, if required
