Join our team that shares your Passion & Heart for Canadian agriculture! Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Customer Service Representative Intern for our Milling division based in Cambridge, ON.
This position will be for the term of May 6, 2024, to Aug 30, 2024. Please note this is a paid position.
P&H Milling
P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.
From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Ontario; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.
Your Role
As Customer Service Representative, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a seamless experience for P&H Milling Group customers from start to finish.
Day to Day
- Enter customers’ orders and provide back up to the Customer Service Representatives.
- Ensure the timely resolution of any issues that arise with sales, production, invoicing, etc. and communicate effectively with all affected parties.
- Negotiate customer emergency deliveries and work closely with production to prioritize deliveries.
- Assist Accounts Receivable and provide back up as required.
- Liaise with Quality Control to ensure all Quality Assurance requirements accompany loads as required.
- Work closely with collections staff.
- Generate various reports and support the Sales Team.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a business and/or accounting program.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook & Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to type at a speed of 40-45 words per minute.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized while ensuring attention to detail and accuracy is consistently met.
- Ability to work independently as well as within the customer service team and other departments as required.
- Experience in a Customer Service role is an asset.
