Job Description

Having recently added Rockwater to the Evergreen portfolio, we are looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee operations, manage events, and deliver exceptional guest experiences. This individual will provide end-to-end leadership by managing all in-house staff & departments, reinforcing our service culture, maximizing guest satisfaction, executing on-site events, and driving overall business performance.

The GM will have significant exposure to Evergreen’s senior leadership team, with the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as they can demonstrate capability for. In addition, there may be opportunities to oversee additional Evergreen properties on the Sunshine Coast, depending on aptitude / interest.

The GM’s key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, including guest relations, front desk, events, amenities, housekeeping, maintenance, team-building, and staff development
• Managing ongoing business performance to exceed expectations on profitability & guest satisfaction
• Developing a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape to ensure our property is effectively positioned in the market
• Maintaining a service-driven culture, with a relentless focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Planning, coordinate, and execute weddings, corporate events and retreats, while working closely with clients to bring their vision to life
• Conducting post-event evaluations to assess the quality and efficiency of events and identify areas for improvement
• Overseeing all on-site amenities (swimming pool, kayaking, adventure tours, etc.) to maintain quality standards & drive exceptional guest experiences
• Identifying, proposing, and executing strategic initiatives to drive outperformance

Skills and qualifications

• About You: You are an experienced hospitality professional with a can-do attitude. Your customer service & attention to detail allow you to deliver exceptional guest experiences, and your leadership skills enable you to build a high-performing team. You are self-motivated and continuously strive to exceed expectations.
• Customer Service: Outgoing personality with a passion for creating unforgettable customer experiences.
• Working style: Highly motivated work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong initiative and expertise in the hospitality industry.
• Business Judgement: Strong commercial awareness, with an ability to evaluate return on investment for strategic initiatives. Able to actively manage trade-off between profitability and guest experience.
• People Management: Past experience with hiring, training, and retaining a high-performing team.
• Industry Experience: Past experience as a GM (or similar management role) in the luxury hospitality market, with hands-on exposure to high-end events & group business.

Note: This is an onsite role, and the GM is expected to be based on the Sunshine Coast. Local housing and/or relocation support can be arranged for the right candidate.
