Job description
With minimal supervision, Specialists are responsible to analyze complex situations, demonstrate ability to apply critical thinking techniques to validate understanding of existing infrastructure technology solutions and/or test and validate new solution designs. Maintains a strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), (AGILE, Accelerated SAP (ASAP), Waterfall) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) procedures.
As a specialist position for data science applications/solutions, you will be a core member of the Data Science team who will work with our business partners to deliver business values in the area of dats science, which can include data identification, data analysis, data engineering, modeling, model deployment, and visualization, through projects and application sustainment activities.
In this role, the employee is responsible for supporting data science pipelines. In addition to this, they will be actively engaged in the projects delivery on the core module and new technologies.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead the on-going curation, maintenance, and integration of existing and new data within data analytics, management and governance processes.
- Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
- Work with application teams to incorporate deployed models, apply modifications and automate model training, based on business feedback.
- Interpret findings, clearly communicate results, and make recommendations to the data management team and inter-departmental stake holders.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and apply standard and approved data gathering techniques based on the data source.
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets, including training and deployment of those models.
- Use visualization tools to clearly communicate data discovery and model output. Including explanation of feature inclusion within chosen pipelines and models.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Management information systems, computer engineering, or related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in a corporate environment in the field of data science.
- 4+ years of experience in using Python and PySpark and other programming languages for data science and large data set management and manipulation.
- 4+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data cataloguing, and their respective tools.
- 4+ years of experience having a strong data intuition; deep knowledge in data modeling, statistical inference, machine learning, and other quantitative approaches; causal analysis is a plus.
- 4+ years of experience in understanding of the different data storage/access models (transactional, data staging, operational data store, data warehouse, data mart, data federation) and choose the model(s) appropriate for the use case.
- 2+ years of experience in cloud technologies like Palantir, Azure, and AWS is preferred
