We’re on a quest to find a Sales and Marketing Co-Op Student to help support our sales and marketing in solar-powered autonomous boats.

Requirements

As a Sales & Marketing CO-OP Student, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales, service, project, and marketing teams.

Your responsibilities will include account management, maintaining customer relationship management (Monday.com, CRM), proposal and invoice preparation, and contributing to the entire sales administration process. This candidate not only brings practical experiences but also integrates academic knowledge gained from relevant coursework, aligning their education with real-world applications in business and management.

As a Sales and Marketing CO-OP Student, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales, service, and marketing teams. Your responsibilities will include account management, proposal and invoice preparation, customer relationship management (CRM), and contributing to the entire sales administration process. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth in the new blue economy.

• Work collaboratively with sales, service, and marketing teams to develop new prospects and manage the entire sales cycle.
• Assist in maintaining the CRM and ensure proactive customer and channel partner engagement and timely follow-up across all markets for Sales and Service pursuits.
• Collaborate with both sales and service teams to achieve successful outcomes and foster customer engagement.
• Assist in preparing quotations and contribute to proposal submission and invoicing processes.
• Engage in on-the-job learning, technical training, and exposure to leadership activities to develop professional skills.
• Attend cross-functional meetings and information sessions to gain an understanding of each department's role within the organization.

Skills & Qualifications

• Enrolled in and completed 2 years of a business degree with a focus on Marketing at a recognized post-secondary University
• Valid Driver’s license
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate scientific and technical information in a clear and understandable manner
• Adaptable and enthusiastic about a start-up environment which includes wearing multiple hats, implementing new systems and striving for a shared goal
• Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
• Interest in global business development and sales.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Desire to learn and contribute to the sales process.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The ideal candidate should possess a self-initiated attitude developed through high-performance environments, demonstrating proven leadership skills and a history of professionalized extracurricular commitments. Additionally, the candidate should have experiences that reflect positive engagement, empathy, management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This candidate has successfully completed relevant courses, such as Financial Accounting, Strategy and Business Fundamentals, Managerial Economics, and International Business, demonstrating a strong academic foundation.

Candidate Experiences:

· Provided positive experiences for stakeholders through one-on-one engagement, developing personal empathy skills from courses like Managerial Economics.

· Developed management skills by leading teams and applying strategic principles learned in Strategy and Business Fundamentals

· Contributed value to the organization by planning and implementing extra daily agendas, reducing pressure on supervisors, showcasing organizational skills acquired in International Business courses.

Benefits

This position based in Victoria, BC. This position will require meeting specific Government Grants for Co-Op Students. Open Ocean Robotics does not sponsor work visas.
