Job description

The Lignum Group are working exclusively with an impressive glazing contractor located in Quebec who offer Design Assist, engineering, testing, fabrication, assembly & installation services across Unitized and Stick Curtain Walling systems.


The QA Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the production and fabrication of curtain wall systems and related products meet the highest standards of quality. This individual must be bilingual (French and English) , possess strong quality inspection skills, and have the ability to manage various aspects of the quality assurance process.


Key Responsibilities:


The Quality Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is expected to adapt and contribute to the growth and success of the company's quality assurance processes. The essential duties in this role are the following, but not limited to:


Quality Inspection:

Conduct thorough inspections of materials produced in-house and received from suppliers to ensure they meet specified quality standards. Conduct inspections of installations on site when required.

Utilize quality inspection skills to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities in the fabrication process.


Quotation Support:

Assist in the preparation of requests for quotations (RFQs) by providing technical input related to quality requirements.


Checklist Preparation:

Lead and participate in the preparation of checklists for quality inspections, ensuring comprehensive coverage of key parameters and standards.


Non-Conformity Management:

Issue Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) when deviations from quality standards are identified.

Maintain a comprehensive log of NCRs for tracking and reporting purposes.


Analysis and Corrective Measures:

Analyze reported non-conformities to identify root causes and trends.

Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive measures.


Quality System Maintenance:

Oversee and maintain the NACC (North American Contractors Certification) quality system.

Conduct internal audits regularly to ensure ongoing compliance and to uphold accreditation standards.


Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality assurance processes.

Generate reports on quality metrics, non-conformities, and corrective actions.


Continuous Improvement:

Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the quality management system.

Implement best practices to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
