Job description

We are seeking and Project Manager with a strong Electrical background for a long term contract opportunity with a well established heavy industry client of ours in the Vancouver area. The position moves projects from concept to hand over and provides technical support to maintenance and operations. In addition to project management, this position is responsible for the site’s electrical engineering standards, and works to ensure that projects are executed in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.

Responsibilities
• Demonstrate excellence in safe and effective project management in a heavily industrialized environment.
• Effectively communicate/coordinate all work required with Maintenance, Operations and other parties managing work on site.
• Promote and maintain a culture of cooperation and excellence between maintenance, operations, safety, and engineering.
• Ensures all projects/repairs meet or exceed our clients standards.
• Work is effectively executed within the planned cost and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Strong planning and organization skills, coupled with ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
• Detailed understanding of 3 phase power distribution systems.
• Experience with variable frequency drive set and control.
• Familiar with Programable Logic Controllers and programming.
• FSR Class A candidates are preferred.
• Superior communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Project and SharePoint
