Job Summary
Working Hours: 10:00 – 6:00 PM EST
The People (HR) Consultant is responsible for providing HR support to business leaders and Associates in all HR functional areas to drive business and people results.
Now, if you were to come on board as our People (HR) Consultant , we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Providing guidance on and interpreting of all People & Culture policies and procedures and support to leaders and associates alike within company client groups across all sectors across Canada.
- Coaching and counselling Operations Managers to make them better business and people leaders by proactively identifying needs and providing recommendations on life cycle people management practices such as interviewing, employee relations, performance reviews, promotions, investigation information gathering, terminations, etc.
- Managing and resolving complex employee relations issues.
- Conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on provincial laws and case law evaluating liabilities and responding to employment litigation.
- Mentoring and guiding People & Culture Advisors and Representatives in their respective roles and responsibilities and career development.

- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma with a specialization in Business Management, Business Administration or Human Resources management; post-graduate certificate in HR Management preferred.
- 4-6 years progressive human resources experience including at least 2 years’ experience in employee relations.
- Experience working in large matrixed organizations with complex business and people models.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience working or advising within unionized environments an asset.
- Bilingual ability in French and English is an asset.
