You will be responsible for all actuarial pricing initiatives for a Retail Broker region while leading an actuarial team focusing on enabling the profitable growth of this great portfolio. You will also balance the technical price and the business insights from the team's analysis. Lastly, you will effectively collaborate with the Technical Pricing Team, Analytics Team, Business Development, Enablement and Segment Owners, and the entire Street Pricing team to achieve common goals.
The ideal candidate has strong technical skills and is an effective collaborator and communicator who can influence and drive forward the strategy and vision for the pricing sophistication journey.

What you'll do:
Accountable for the overall performance and people management of an Actuarial Street Pricing team
Develop appropriate systems, processes, and methodologies for analyzing rates and products for assigned region
Collaborate with regional personal lines pricing teams to ensure that pricing decisions for Street Pricing fit within the overall product decisions.
Oversee rate reviews for personal insurance products and communicate the results of reviews to business stakeholders
Research and apply both traditional and innovative ways to apply accepted actuarial techniques to business issues
Manage the production of rate filings in assigned region and work with the regulators to obtain approval
Coach junior staff and act as a technical expert and mentor for all direct reports.
Ensure all personal insurance products are developed in line with the Product Development and Management Standard, and the Technical Pricing Standard
Obtain a deep understanding of your assigned book of business in particular, and the Canadian business in general, to explain the key factors underlying the emerging experience and to provide strategic insights to stakeholders
What you'll bring:
FCAS/FCIA
5+ years of personal lines pricing experience or 7+ years of P&C actuarial experience
Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop a team
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to understand business requirements and turn them into actuarial analysis (and vice-versa)
Effective negotiation skills with the ability to build consensus and influence effectively
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Hands-on as well as managerial experience in scripting/coding, including in Python and SAS
Superior analytical skills with an insatiable desire to probe, question, validate and challenge to ensure accurate and insightful analysis.
Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
