Digital Nova Scotia is seeking a creative, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Marketing and Communications Coordinator to support the marketing and communications needs of DNS. The ideal candidate enjoys wearing many hats, meeting new people and is detail-oriented. They will support internal and external communications, social media, graphic design, special events and website maintenance-all with the goal of advancing Nova Scotia's tech sector.
Qualifications - 3-5 years' experience in marketing, communications or journalism;
- Motivated and driven team player;
- Interest in the tech sector;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, content management systems, website maintenance/WordPress, and social media tools;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong relationship-building abilities;
- Organized and adaptable with the ability to prioritize tasks;
- Goal-oriented and independent;
- Valid driver's license preferred for provincial travel.
Responsibilities - Champion DNS brand consistency across print materials, digital activities, and events;
- Support DNS' digital presence, including content creation, stakeholder engagement, increased public awareness, online conversations, and WordPress website management;
- Write blog articles highlighting Nova Scotia's growing tech sector, our members and graduates of our programming;
- Produce weekly email newsletter, social media content, paid advertising and website improvements;
- Manage DNS events (such as webinars, workshops, lunch & learn sessions) on the Wild Apricot platform from set up to promotion;
- Write and edit profile features and stories to highlight Nova Scotia's growing tech sector and graduates of our programming;
- Engage with Digital Nova Scotia members;
- Conduct interviews and edit videos profiling industry leaders.
- Research industry data and statistics;
- Collaborate on creating and implementing strategic communications and marketing materials.
