DUTIES

Reporting to the Chair of Life Sciences, the instructor, who is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in the Veterinary Technology Program will provide instruction in theory, lab and clinical portions of the Veterinary Technology program. Duties will include lecturing in person and online, practical instruction, evaluation, interprofessional collaboration, and supervision of students. This position also includes minor surgical procedures, pre/post op animal care with other personnel and students in Red River College Polytechnic's Veterinary Technology programs facilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

• Current registration with the Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association

• Extensive and current clinical experience within veterinary medicine

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills

• Effective leadership skills

• Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings

• Ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes

• Effective presentation skills with ability to present material to diverse groups with the use of appropriate technology

• Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in avian, exotic and small animal care

• Experience in adult education

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

• This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends

Salary: $62,129 - $92,271 per annum*
