Survey Technician

Musselwhite

Purpose

Musselwhite Mine is currently seeking a Mine Surveyor to join the Technical Services team. Reporting directly to the Engineering Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of survey for the team and will have a high focus on safety and environmental protection in all areas of the job.

Responsibilities

• Mark-up and grade control of active headings (MOSS assisted)
• Creates and maintains as-built survey data in Deswik suite
• Generates driving prints for development headings
• Mark-up of production drill designs
• Conducts cavity monitoring surveys (CMS) of excavations
• Utilization of surface and underground drones
• Underground production hole survey (Boretrak)
• Use of electronic total station instruments and data collectors
• Surface surveying with differential GPS systems
• Prepares month-end and survey reports

Requirements

• Preferred candidate will have a mine engineering or technical related certificate
• Relevant survey experience and a working knowledge of underground mining environment
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office required
• Knowledge of Deswik software an asset
• Strong organizational and communication skills, able to work independently
• Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 35 kg
• Ability to frequently reach below and at-shoulder level
• Underground experience is an asset
• Ability to utilize drones is an asset
• Strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
• Experience working in a culturally diverse environment an asset
• Ability to work with and share information with team members and other reliant departments

Working Conditions

The work schedule for this position is 14 on, 14 days off, working 12-hour days.
