Location: Exploits Generation

This position receives general direction from the Manager of Work Execution & Operations - Exploits Generation in the development of the Planning and Scheduling program for Exploits Generation. The planner provides detailed planning and scheduling for the Mechanical and Electrical Departments and co-ordinates all aspects of work between the Maintenance and Operations Groups to ensure timely maintenance service, maximum availability of equipment, full utilization of maintenance manpower and minimum practical cost for maintenance.

You will be responsible for performing detailed planning and scheduling with respect to preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance, equipment overhauls, upgrading and modifications of all equipment in plants, spillways, control structures and support buildings. You will assist the Long-Term Asset Management group in the development of the Long-Term Plans & Capital Works. You will develop and update detailed project schedules which accurately reflect the personnel requirements, the required tools and equipment, the maintenance window and work durations. Communicate regularly with maintenance schedulers, supervisors, operations personnel and others regarding work order planning & scheduling issues. You will coordinate work between departments, track progress and provide performance and cost information to management as required. You will work towards continuous improvement of the planning and scheduling process, maintain the JD Edwards work order database (within the responsibility scope of the Planner). You will also participate in the Safety and Health and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and perform other duties as assigned.

A minimum of five years experience with a Power Utility or in large industrial plant maintenance environment and have at least two years experience in maintenance planning. Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Primavera (P6) are an asset. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, JD Edwards experience preferred. Mechanical or Electrical Technologist and/or journeyperson certification. Other combinations of qualifications and related experience will be considered.
