Your new role
We are currently seeking a Project Excellence Advisors to join our client’s operations in Sudbury, ON. This is a contract opportunity, and the incumbent will be working Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week.
The Project Excellence Advisor will be responsible for supporting the implementation and consolidation of the clients’ Production System (VPS) in the Matrix Organization of the North Atlantic Project Group through guidance, training, assessments, process consulting and continuous improvement to achieve Excellence in Project Management and Construction.
- Provide technical support to clients, to ensure the implementation and consolidation of the management model to achieve Operational Excellence (Basic Problem-Solving – 5S, 5 Why, Deviation; Action plans; and Implement Routine Management – Daily meetings, KPIs breakdown, Deviation Analysis, etc.).
- Support existing demands (VPS Initiatives, etc.).
- Support and coach project/area personnel in the implementation VPS in order to enhance processes’ efficiency.
- Supports the definition and implementation of the performance management and reporting processes to meet the NAPG requirements for Health, Safety, Environment, Risk and VPS.
- Support the coordination of VPS self-assessments and audits across the Project Group Areas.
- Monitor the results of the project areas, through performance indicators, in order to identify gaps in the management of their processes.
- Participate in the assessments of the management model – at site complex/location/ level.
- Identify areas for improvement and provide solutions to clients in an effort to achieve sustainable results; capture new demands – focused on the activity inside the plants/mines.
- Recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the client. Facilitate sprint road mapping, planning sessions and retrospectives. Support the triage and resolution of critical impediments.
- Train and coach end-users in the basics of the management model such as 5S and Problem-Solving and its tools.
- Train and coach end-users in the advanced techniques of the management model, such as Material and Information Flow, Kanbans, Kaizens, etc. and its tools.
- Collect and share best practices in the company, updating the management model when applicable.
- Capture and consolidate the financial and potential gains of operational improvement initiatives, following the defined methodology and flow of validation.
- Maintain the improvements and act as the Normative of the Systems that support the management model.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in business management, administration, project management or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of related experience.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and SAP
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship skills - ability to work and communicate with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization, written and oral.
- High attention to detail, a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize duties and solve problems.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with the utmost professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- A positive and proactive attitude towards teamwork and safety.
