Our client is seeking for an innovative, marketing-led VP of Sales and Marketing for a permanent full-time position at our Stoney Creek, Hamilton office. Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for defining and implementing the sales and marketing strategies for our client’s suite of products: MTKG, Pay, and POS. You will directly manage the Business Development, Client Success, and Marketing teams. The primary expectation will be to continue to drive software and payment sales growth, partnership acquisition and management, large account acquisition and retention, as well as help drive product and business strategies. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will help drive profitability, develop and attract key staff, and drive strategic direction of the company. This role will be hired local to our head office in Stoney Creek with the expectation of 3 days a week in the office 2 days remote.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with executive team to build the right sales, marketing, and channel Go-to-Market strategies that align with company objectives.
- Perform market research, competitive analysis, and SWOT analysis to gain understanding of competitors, and to better understand customer buying behaviors.
- Present and discuss in detail all the client’s and their respective strategic partner solutions, technologies and use cases.
- Build, manage, and expand relationships with current and potential internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement a proven and consistent sales methodology to accurately forecast sales.
- Build and execute a best-in-class customer success model in alignment with operations, product development and engineering teams.
- Develop and execute marketing and pipeline growth initiatives.
- Provide decisive and effective leadership for all sales, marketing, and channel development efforts.
- Engage in effective communication with clients, staff, and management.
- Collaborate with strategic partners and clients to research market needs and identify possible new product solutions.
- Establish clear sales and marketing metrics and benchmarks for measuring progress and maintaining focus.
- Actively monitor the performance of the sales and marketing staff to ensure that quarterly and annual sales targets are met or exceeded.
- Oversee the recruitment and training processes of sales and marketing team members.
- Provide performance management feedback and corrective action to direct reports when required.

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related area or equivalent
• 10+ years of senior sales and marketing management experience with a consistent track record of exceeding targets, with a focus on Marketing first
• 5+ years experience setting marketing strategy at a senior level
• 5+ years of B2B sales and customer relations experience
• 5+ years experience in the Payments industry
• 5+ years in SaaS sales
• Comfortable reaching out and conversing with contacts, potential clients, business owners and business leaders at any level
• Top-notch interpersonal communications skills and proven ability to work well in a team environment and independently
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Assets
• MBA or equivalent preferred but not required
• Experience selling to businesses in the Petroleum, Retail or Hospitality industries
• Previous experience working in software, merchant services, payment services, gift card, loyalty, petroleum, retail and/or hospitality industry position
• Experience working at a start-up company with an entrepreneurial environment
• Marketing services and technology background
