Job description

Dexter Construction Company is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Lube Technician to join our operations, this position will be based out of Bedford, NS.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete preventative maintenance work in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
Change fluids and filters on equipment and vehicles as per OEM and company specifications.
Inspect and service a variety of assets owned and operated by the Municipal Group of Companies.
Maintain a safe, clean, productive, and efficient work area.
Work outside in different environments and weather conditions.
Perform any other duties assigned within the scope of the position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

Hands-on experience of diesel and or gasoline engines.
Ability to effectively communicate and work with co-workers and supervisors.
Experience in the automotive, heavy commercial or heavy equipment industry is considered an asset.
Valid Driver’s license – Class 3 license considered an asset.
Work History, education and/or relative experience that demonstrates mechanical knowledge/aptitude.
Time management and organizational skills.
The ability to stand, sit, reach , and bend for periods of time to complete job specific tasks.
Ability to lift, up to 40lbs.
Willingness to work in a team environment.
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Working safely is a condition of employment.
