The HRIS Specialist is responsible for providing expertise and support for the configuration and maintenance of the HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce). The HRIS Specialist will also support the administration of HR and payroll related reporting.
Responsibilities: - Be a “Super User” to the organization in the assigned areas including HR, Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance, Compensation, Benefits and Employee & Manager Self Service
- Provide support to stakeholders on all modules, understanding and managing operational requirements, corporate core requirements and software configuration.
- Perform functional consulting with HR, Finance, Information Technology, Operations, and other stakeholders as required to understand current and future needs and identify best practice processes to meet those needs.
- Test system configuration changes and software updates, understanding the potential impacts and communicating the updates prior to implementation.
- Assist with the integration of new businesses onto the HRIS, contributing to the requirements gathering, configuration, testing, data conversion, and training for the new business.
- Work closely with IT and Operations to manage system security and ensure appropriate levels of access.
- Load, manipulate, audit, and report on data in the HRIS. Make complex mass changes, conversions, or other direct data updates at a configuration level.
- Work closely with IT and external vendors to plan, test, deliver, and support integrations involving HRIS data.
- Monitor processes to assess the quality of data in the system. Propose, document, and implement processes to improve data integrity and promote the consistent use of the system.
- Develop custom reports and respond to ad hoc reporting requests from the business.
- Develop and deliver training courses for HRIS functionality. Create guides and documentation for the diverse groups of system end-users.
- Provide support for HRIS related initiatives, both system and process related. Provide frequent and clear communications regarding the status of initiatives, keeping stakeholders informed of changes and work that is in progress.
- Act as a point of contact for resolving issues internally and escalating issues to the application vendors as required. Ensure all issues are tracked and monitored on an ongoing basis. Ensure that issues requiring escalation are escalated appropriately.
- Research and identify the root causes for HRIS problems and own their resolution, which may require interaction with HR & Payroll, IT, Finance, Operations and/or third-party vendors.
- Other HRIS duties as assigned.
- Must be able to travel as required.
Qualifications: - Minimum of three years experience using Dayforce.
- Experience supporting and configuring Dayforce modules including Core HR, Recruiting & Onboarding, Performance & Compensation, and Benefits. Knowledge of the Payroll module is an asset.
- Demonstrated consulting skills including strong communication, listening, project management and facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to apply systems knowledge to solve business issues within HR and Operational practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound knowledge of Best Payroll Practices and an understanding of Employment Standards legislation.
- Post secondary education, preferably in Human Resources Management
- Able to work independently and excel in a collaborative matrix environment.
- Ability to protect and maintain confidentiality of HR and Company data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Timekeeping (WFM) systems is an asset.
- Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
