Position: Junior Accountant / Accountant
Type: Permanent Full-Time
Location: Oakville, ON (Fully On-Site)
Salary: $65,000 to $70,000

We are looking for a Junior Accountant in a permanent, full-time capacity for one of North America's most prominent mechanical manufacturing companies with a global footprint.

Do you have a minimum of 2 years Full Cycle Accounting Experience?
Do you have extensive experience using QuickBooks Desktop?
Do you have experience with Accounts Payable?

Responsibilities
In this Junior Accountant role in Oakville, you will have the following responsibilities (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):

- Any duties as designated by Controller

- Review, prepare and analyze financial statements, including comparisons to budget, forecast, prior year
- Assist in the month end process, including preparation of standard and special journal entries.
- Conducting bank and cash reconciliations
- Preparing GL account reconciliations and in-depth analysis.
- Preparing balance sheet account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Completing necessary month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures
- Processing invoices and verifying the accuracy of supporting documentation
- Managing and reconciling vendor accounts to ensure timely payments
- Coordinating with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals for payments
- Handling inquiries from vendors and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Preparing and processing payment runs, including checks and electronic transfers

Qualifications
As an ideal candidate for the Junior Accountant role in Oakville, you will demonstrate the following:

- A minimum of 2 to 5 years' in full cycle accounting
- A minimum of 2 years in an Accounts payable position
- QuickBooks Desktop proficiency (An assessment will be conducted to verify proficiency)
- Can do Attitude: This role will assume many duties and responsibilities as assigned by the controller. An open mind and willing to go above and beyond is an absolute must
- Work on-site (fully in-person) 5 days a week

Nice to have:
- Payroll processing experience
- Enrolled in the CPA process
