Job description
Overall Purpose and Key Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Technician, the ideal candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Technician who is completely comfortable working on property, or on the water, in all weather conditions, including rain, shine or snow. As a Maintenance Technician, you see the big picture but are detailed in all that you do. With a small but dedicated maintenance team that addresses both seasonal and activation needs, the Maintenance Technician must have an ingrained sense of teamwork while equally adept at working independently. Timely follow-up and reporting of work progress and completion standards are also core to your success.
The Maintenance Technician is a key contributor to ensuring those who frequent Nova Scotia's most visited destinations have a safe and enjoyable experience by taking a hands-on approach to coming up with practical and creative solutions to a variety of maintenance challenges. No two days are the same in this role, as responsibilities can include seasonal set up of both marine and property related waterfront amenities, minor construction, renovating and rejuvenating infrastructure, and supporting specific events such as the Halifax Busker or Evergreen festivals. As visitation and activities run on a seven-day per week basis across many of Build Nova Scotia's properties, the Maintenance Technician must be available to work scheduled weekends and possibly, some evenings. While Halifax will be your home base, you should also look forward to getting out to our other properties in Dartmouth, Bedford, and Peggy's Cove.
