Job description
A well-established pharmacy in downtown Ottawa is looking for a part-time staff pharmacist and expected to be able to perform the following duties:
- Check the accuracy of processed prescriptions before dispensing them.
- Counsel patients on how to take their medications and address any health-related concerns.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals to help find the best therapeutic option for their patients.
- Familiar with dispensing methadone and Kadian (ODT).
- Prescribe minor ailment prescriptions after proper assessment.
- Administer seasonal Flu shots and Covid vaccines if any.
- Supervise pharmacist assistants on site to ensure accuracy and to maintain an excellent level of customer service.
- Guide customers on choosing the best possible OTC products after proper assessment.
- Experience with the operating system (Filware) is a plus.
