Job Description

• Organize and set up bar
• Clean bar area and wash glassware
• Serve food or snacks
• Advise on wine selection
• Inform customers regarding contents of cocktails or other drinks
• Train staff
• Collect cash, credit/debit cards or other payment for beverages
• Operate cash register
• Record and balance beverage sales
• Store beverage and food products
• Address customers’ complaints or concerns
• Prepare mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer and non-alcoholic beverages
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons

Requirements

-Education: Some secondary education is required.

-Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a bartender is required, if the candidate does not have at least 1 year of experience, a post-secondary certificate in bartending, mixing drinks or in a related program, will be required.

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods

-Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Initiative, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Positive attitude

-Language: English is required

Salary: $17.50 per hour, 35-44 Hours per week.

Important information:

This position will require working 8-hour shifts. Shifts are from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM. 1-2 days off per week provided on a rotational basis. Flexibility on schedule is required. Work on weekdays, weekends and holidays is required.
