Description

The Dump Truck Driver plays a crucial role within a construction or civil engineering company by ensuring the transportation of materials, equipment and waste on construction sites. This professional is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the dump truck, as well as assisting with loading and unloading operations.

Responsibilities

Operate the dump truck safely and efficiently on construction sites, complying with road safety rules and applicable regulations.
Load, transport and unload different types of construction materials such as gravel, sand, soil, stones and other materials required for construction work.
Collaborate with operators of loading equipment such as wheel loaders or excavators to load the truck bed, and assist in unloading materials onto designated areas of the job site.
Perform preventive checks on the dump truck before each use, report any anomalies or mechanical problems and carry out minor repairs if necessary.
Ensure materials are delivered to the site in a timely manner to avoid delays in construction work.
Communicate effectively with site personnel and supervisors to coordinate delivery activities and ensure materials are delivered to the appropriate locations.
Respect safety rules on the construction site, in particular by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and avoiding risky behavior during loading, transport and unloading operations.

Requirements

Valid driver's license, with a good driving record.
Experience as a dump truck driver, preferably in construction or civil engineering, an asset.
Knowledge of road safety rules and regulations in force regarding the transport of goods.
Ability to work independently and meet delivery deadlines.
Good physical condition to perform manual loading and unloading tasks if necessary.
Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with site members.
Flexibility to work around variable schedules and construction site requirements.
