Job description

This is a contract position for a Software Developer for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: One Year
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test and implement:
data pipelines using Python and other technologies
complex data transformation procedures
data models for the efficient storing of data in relational databases as well as in unstructured data repositories
reusable classes and modules to enhance the maintainability and ability to deliver solutions quickly.
Review existing code base and assist other more junior team members ensuring a consistent level of quality.
Assess new business requirements and propose adequate technical solutions (using on-prem and on-cloud resources)
Monitor automatic execution of the various data loads and proactively address issues such as data processing errors or performance degradations.

Produce design artifacts and detailed documentation including deployment and operating manuals which will allow future support of the implemented solutions.
Perform knowledge transfer to other team members.

Qualifications
ETL developer with Python
AWS or any cloud platform experience
AWS or Azure knowledge and experience
Cloud data storage and processing

· Cloud data warehousing and analytics

· API development
