The General Manager, Equipment Division, will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Equipment Division, ensuring the safe and cost-efficient management of assets, personnel, and facilities. Key responsibilities include:
- Asset Management: Accountable for the life-cycle management of equipment, developing a strategic acquisition strategy, and implementing a replacement program.
- Budgeting and Planning: Reviewing and developing budgets for equipment overhauls and repairs, providing recommendations for equipment repair, overhaul, lease rent, or purchase.
- Personnel Management: Providing clear direction and delegation of authority to Equipment Division personnel, developing and coaching maintenance personnel as needed.
- Preventative Maintenance: Ensuring the implementation of preventative maintenance programs, maximizing equipment availabilities and utilization.
- Stakeholder Relations: Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and clients.
- Compliance: Adhering to and ensuring compliance with all established policies and procedures, as well as provincial and regulatory safety requirements.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- 15 to 20 years of broad practical experience in equipment maintenance and management.
- Underground mining business experience is a strong asset.
- Technical degree or diploma in a related field is required; engineering or business degrees are a plus.
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Ticket is an asset.
- 5 to 10 years of business management or leadership experience.
- Mobility for extensive travel, often on short notice and to remote locations.
- Secondary language skills (Spanish and/or French) are beneficial but not essential.
