Silvatech Consulting Ltd. was established in 1983 as a progressive developer of technological solutions for resource management applications. The Silvatech Group utilizes some of the most current technology available in resource information acquisition and management. Silvatech is accepting resumes for the position(s) of Forest Inventory Interpreter. These position(s) require air-photo interpreters to work in our Resource Inventory Department in carrying out vegetation and base feature inventories. Some travel may be required. The position(s) will be full-time, based at Salmon Arm, B.C. on beautiful Shuswap Lake. It is ideal for those who prefer a small-town atmosphere, near to larger centres, with full services and amenities and year-round recreational opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forestry or allied science Diploma or Degree
• 2 + years of experience in forest resource inventories
• Demonstrated field and office inventory project experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Certified Air-Photo Interpreter  (BC and/or AB and/or ON)
• Demonstrated experience with stereo soft-copy software
• Good computer, GIS, digital mapping skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Air photo interpretation (Vegetation / Base Features)
• Field Sampling / Data Collection
• Delineation, Classification / Attribute Estimation
• Operation of Stereo Digital Mapping Workstation

Remuneration and benefits will be commensurate with experience and responsibilities. $25-35/hr.
