About the Role

With a passion for care towards residents, families and team members, the Resource Nurse is accountable for practicing outstanding care and support to residents, resident families, team members and volunteers to the full scope of their registered nurse professional practice, and to ensure that their conduct meets the standards of the profession and of Bethany to deliver resident centred care.

What You Will Do
Individual responsibilities will fall under five main areas of focus:

1. Resident Centered Care: Promotes service excellence and is responsive to the residents' needs prior to resident admission. 
2. Documentation: Accurately and comprehensively documents resident care assessments, interventions and outcomes in alignment with Bethany policies and procedures related to all resident and family interactions.
3. Safety: Contributes to a safe environmentfor residents, team, and self by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices always. 
4. Pro-active Learner: Demonstrates the vision and values of Bethany and lives out the mission of Creating Caring Communities.
5. Team Work: Mentors the Interdisciplinary Team to achieveand maintain a responsible atmosphereof resident centered care.
6. Leadership:Enables a high performance culture through coaching employees.  

What You Bring: 
- Graduated from an accredited Nursing School with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Candidates with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with 1 year experience preferred. 
- Active registration and in good standing with CARNA. 
- A current CPR & First Aid Certification 
- Knowledge of RAI/MDS 2.0 tool, computer skills and electronic documentation is preferred
- Able to work in a physically and mentally demanding environment.
- Excellent observation, communication, and critical thinking skills. 
- Previous Dementia Care, Palliative, WRN/SWAT, and Gerontology certificates and experience are preferred.
