SUMMER STUDENT EMPLOYMENT - PETERBOROUGH TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
Location: 1867 Ashburnham Dr., Peterborough (could also include travel to other locations)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Wage: $17.55 per hour
Accepting post secondary co-op placement students.
Job Purpose:
This position, as a member of the systems and programming team, will utilize your skills by working with application users and Information Technology (IT) staff in the implementation and support of computer applications and technologies
Major Accountabilities:
- Working with the IT team and application users, this position will provide application support and assistance with application setup, configuration, and problem resolution.
- Collaborate with internal staff and external suppliers & vendors to monitor the performance of information technology resources, make recommendations to maximize efficiency and performance and identify opportunities to automate exisiting processes
- Participate in special assignments or projects pertaining to software applications or integrations
- Maintain detailed project documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in a Post Secondary Program in Information Technology or related Program. Must be returning to full time studies in Fall 2024.
Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge/interest in the area of end-user software solutions
- Knowledge of requirements analysis and Java programming language, JavaScript and databases (i.e. Microsoft SQL, MySQL, etc.) would be an asset
- Experience with Linux operating systems would be an asset
- Experience with networking tools and protocols would be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks within schedules that have changing priorities
- Good time management and English communications skills (both oral and written)
Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Must be self motivated and require limited supervision
- Must hold a valid “G” driver’s license and have access to a vehicle on a daily basis
