A Day in the Life:

PRT is seeking a Full-Time Business Analyst and Project Manager (PM) to be based at the PRT Corporate office in Victoria BC . The Business analyst and Project Manager will be responsible for understanding the business landscape and the changing IT needs of PRT. This position will communicate with stakeholders in the organization to analyze business requirements, processes, and information systems. Through data analytics, the Business Analyst and Project Manager will help drive the business in the right direction by improving the products, services, and business applications. The successful candidate will also take on the role of managing some IT projects to ensure they successfully transition into production.  Most work hours will be spent indoors in an office environment. However, the person in this role will be expected to travel to many Canadian and US nursery locations and occasionally work outside of regular business hours.   

Key Accountabilities of the Business Analyst and Project Manager:

• Review the list of user requests captured in the helpdesk systems & schedule meetings with stakeholders to flesh out requirements and details.
• Investigate and prioritize business requests from stakeholders.
• Simplify business requirements for easy analysis.
• Create detailed business needs specifications for the development team.
• Create detailed project plans.
• Communicate with customers.
• Analyze and report relevant data trends.
• Encourage innovation and continuous improvement.
• Promote collaboration and teamwork at all levels.
• Set targets (i.e., production, timelines) and evaluate achievement.

About the team:

This position will report to the IT Manager.

Required/Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related filed, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
• Minimum of three years’ experience of system development or similar role
• Project Management Certification or equivalent and experience managing complex projects that have had positive outcomes for IT and to the business.
• Experience in a leadership role
• Valid Driver’s License
• Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct a root cause analysis
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Communicate with honesty, kindness and respect
