As part of the Mapping and Information Resources Branch, the Information Management Section is a dynamic, inclusive section made up of three collaborative units that provide IM support to ensure that the ministry's data, information and application assets are managed by relevant legislation and OPS policies.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

- Direct and coordinate activities related to digital, data, and information strategic direction in MNRF
- Develop quantitative and qualitative performance criteria reflecting enterprise and information goals
- Lead environmental scans to identify digital, data, Information Management, and IT and governance issues
- Recommend improvements in digital, data, information, and IT approaches, practices, and tools
- Create promotional materials and a change management plan for the digital, data, and information strategy
- Provide management briefings on risks and mitigation strategies
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with key Divisional, Ministry, and other staff

How do I qualify?

Communication and Partnership Building Skills:

- You have exceptional relationship management and influencing skills for facilitating collaboration, consultations, and communication with internal and external stakeholders - You can effectively prepare reports and make presentations to senior management, clients and external stakeholders
- You have experience in negotiating and conflict resolution to gain support and encourage consensus
- You demonstrate political acuity and persuasion abilities to liaise with stakeholders, clients, and the public

Digital and Data Management Expertise:

- You have an understanding of the digital marketplace, digital platforms and technology and OPS trends
- You have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the government's digital, data, and information policies and program requirements
- You know current digital, data and information trends to provide practical strategic planning expertise

Research and Project Management Skills:

- You are skilled in researching, developing, and evaluating business solutions to deliver effective services, strategies, and initiatives
- You have project management methodology and leadership techniques
- You have experience in leading assigned projects
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- You can identify and assess strategic directions, priorities, and impacts of changes
- You can design, conduct, and evaluate costing and data models

Technical Knowledge:

- You are familiar with government policy, strategic direction and government policy direction
- You have knowledge of performance management and reporting principles and processes, performance metrics, quality assurance standards and processes
