Career opportunity:
We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager, Operations to supplement our operations department and support the Harbourfront Group of Companies. This role will be a hybrid position based out of our head office in Vancouver, BC and will be reporting to the Director, Operations & Transition Services. We are looking for a motivated, high performing, results driven candidate. The ideal candidate will have superior people management skills with a core understanding of CIRO registered Wealth Management firm back office operational processes and procedures.
You will be responsible for:
- Acting as the primary liaison with National Banks Independent Network (NBIN), Harbourfront’s Carrying Broker;
- Working collaboratively with senior management to support the business planning process;
- Providing firm wide training and support to personnel on operational tasks and inquiries;
- Overseeing the Operations & Advisor Support Teams and assisting with the IA onboarding process, including training and transition support as required;
- Supervising and leading the firm’s operational procedure development initiatives stemming from regulatory or other requirements;
- Project management & implementation process, and subsequently post go-live;
- Ensuring the Operations department is properly staffed for projected growth and IA Team onboarding;
- Supporting the Operations Team in their day-to-day tasks as required, such as:
- Client account documentation;
- Administration of fee-based accounts;
- Administrative tasks relating to EFTs, Internal transfers, branch deposits;
- Reviewing new account forms, Registered Account applications, EFT, transfer and other accompanying account documentation for completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements;
- Communication and follow up with Advisor(s) with regards to documentation;
- Ensuring that accounts are opened in a timely manner;
- Responding to internal and branch documentation and process inquiries by email and by phone;
The ideal candidate for this position has:
- 5+ years working within the wealth management industry at a management level, preferably at an CIRO registered firm;
- 3-5 years of experience with National Banks Independent Network (NBIN) processes and systems;
- Outstanding relationship management capabilities with strong analytical, marketing, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Solid knowledge of the Wealth Management industry with deep understanding of Back Office procedures and processes
- Proficiency with MS Office applications including but not limited to; Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Has a proven ability to take initiative and will possess exceptional communication & training skills;
- Ability to effectively multitask in a fast paced work environment with changing priorities;
- Effective organizational, decision-making and problem solving skills;
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) is considered an asset;
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 per annum (actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
