Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, Weekend, Day, Night, and Evening

Salary: $33 Hourly for 35 hours per week

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: North York, Ontario (2 vacancies)

We have worked with hundreds of clients for residential buildings in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area

POSITION SUMMARY : 

The Carpenter will be responsible to construct, erect, install, maintain and repair structures and components of structures made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials..

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
• Supervise apprentices and other construction workers
• May prepare cost estimates for clients.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 1 year of experience in the position
• Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English.
