Summary of the group:

BPD’s Business Planning and Operations team leads the development and implementation of BPD’s functional strategy and operational business planning and support.  Major areas of responsibility include supporting the creation of long-term technical objectives, development of annual budgets, functional resource management, contract management, ensuring is operating in a compliant state and ensuring cross functional leadership bodies and business processes are effective.

Contract management responsibilities:

• Works independently to manage contracts with 3rd parties and provides end-to-end support for contracts including drafting, negotiating and supporting execution   
• Advise, triage and route contract requests to relevant expert functions to ensure timely approval
• Provide guidance on corporate policies including fair market value rates and nominated signatory approvals
• Track and ensure milestone payments are processed as agreed
• Ensure data integrity in SharePoint, iBuy/Coupa Purchase Requisition and any other relevant systems/databases
• Manage external sponsorships using CyberGrants tool and file bi-annual disclosures to meet transparency reporting requirements 
• Liaises with Legal and Procurement as required to ensure AstraZeneca remains compliant and contracts deliver the best value to the company
• Support cost center owners to effectively manage external spend
• Implements and maintains systems for tracking and projecting external spend
• Review SAP compliance reports and month end financials and work with Business Development and Finance to validate posted transactions    
• Support scientists and cost center owners with day-to-day business operation needs
• Educate scientists on contract-to-pay processes and their roles and responsibilities  
• Conduct P2P training and support for purchase requisition creation, receipting, invoice reconciliation, non-PO invoice processing, generation of supplier e-forms, user profile creation and updates in key internal systems  

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
• Experience as a professional contracts manager
• Excellent communication skills
• Good negotiation skills

Desired Skills:

• Previous experience of working in the Pharmaceutical and/or Health Care industry.
• Alternatively experience of working in a complex multinational, multicultural environment.
• Experience with the Salesforce.com platform and use of MS SharePoint
• Familiarity with sourcing marketplaces such as Scientist.com, SHI, VWR, etc
• Experience with internal AZ systems including iBuy, Coupa, AZ Procurement Platform and Echo
• Experience in use of analytics platforms such as Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI
