Our University is actively seeking a Systems Administrator. The successful candidate will have extensive infrastructure project management, execution, and escalation support experience. The Systems Administrator will work directly with the Manager, IT Infrastructure and System Administrators to support existing systems, and drive forward various projects to enable our digital transformation.
As a starting point, the incumbent will onboard into the current infrastructure project portfolio and support landscape. Through this onboarding the Systems Administrator will gain critical understanding of our current systems to enable the team and overall organizational mission.

- Oversee the Backup & Restore system functionality to ensure data protection, integrity, and DR/BCP requirements.
- Responsible for the Microsoft 365 suite, including software deployment, licensing management and escalation support.
- Managing Group Policy & Intune (MDM) configuration, testing & validation.
- Management of the Telephone System (Teams Voice) and Contact Centre (Five9s) environment, and eFax/Fax services.
- Management of the Audio/Visual room technology including Meeting rooms (cameras/mics) and future Hybrid Classroom environments.
- Ensuring the Infrastructure Monitoring solution properly polls all critical technology assets and provides real-time analytics for SLA maintenance.
- Management of the Active Directory domain controllers and cloud replication.
- Virtualization environment management including both on-premises (VMware) and Cloud (Azure).
- Support of the Video Conference (Zoom and Teams) cloud-based systems.
- Responsible for the Networking environment, both LAN & WAN (Firewalls) from an interconnectivity and performance perspective.
- Management of Printer Infrastructure & monitoring platform (copier fleet)
- Management of the Network Video Recording environment and physical security controls in coordination with our partners.
- Responsible for the File storage including SAN, SFTP & Cloud (OneDrive) environments.
- Primary lead for Infrastructure Incident response of critical systems.
- Accountable to ensure Infrastructure Technical Documentation is up to date and readily available.
- Working with multiple partners and vendors to support our diverse technology landscape.
- 5+ years of demonstrated strength in supporting and administering or managing infrastructure systems and controls.
- Experience in administering telephone systems & contact centres.
- Experience with project management for new & existing technology implementations.
- Proficient in documentation, training and communication to ensure ease of adoption.
- Ability to coach, mentor and support other IT support team members to ensure the smooth operationalization of our systems support.
- Excellent ability to dissect and learn unfamiliar systems and processes quickly and effectively.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Proven proficiency with managing and resolving support inquiries from multiple channels efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and project execution skills.
