Job description

This is a contract position for a Project Manager / Leader for our public sector client.
Work location: North York / Guelph
Duration: Twelve Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
· Support one or more Project Managers or Portfolio Leads in the management of activities on various projects.

· Perform day-to-day project coordination and administration activities such as tracking, reporting, and facilitating resolution of issues and risks, following up on action items, taking meeting minutes, updating project schedules using MS Project Online.

· Work collaboratively with other groups to ensure optimal integration as required.

· Assist in the creation of project artefacts, including scorecard updates, status reports, and provide input to management reports.

· Perform analysis using tools such as Excel.

· Assist project managers with day to day tasks.

· Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Skills and experience creating and maintaining project management artefacts such as risk, issue & action logs, briefing notes, status reports, presentations, project communications, and meeting minutes.

· Professional interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide variety of technical and business stakeholders.

· Exceptional facilitation, negotiation, and consultative skills.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Skills and experience gathering data, performing analysis and building reports to support decision-making on project scope, schedule, cost data.

· Skills and experience reviewing and ensuring submitted documentation is complete and accurate.

· A team player with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks with competing priorities and strict deadlines.

· 3 to 5 years skills and experience in I&IT project management.

· Skills and experience building and maintaining detailed schedules in MS Project, ensuring activities are tracked to completion.

· Skills and experience with meeting facilitation, meeting minute creation, action item tracking & follow-ups.

· Skills and experience working independently and with both the business and technology teams.

· High level of proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

· Experience with Radio technology projects.

· Have 5 plus years operational experience in a public safety environment.

· Able to travel including overnight.

· Experience with communication projects in a public service company/ organization.
